We came back from three years in Singapore with two school-age children and an absolute pile of things to sort out. I did not know where to begin. Bridgen gave me a clear list of what was needed before a single appointment was made, and they tracked everything in writing throughout. I knew exactly where we stood at each stage.

The calendar service removed most of the back-and-forth between households about who knew what. Both homes had the same information at the same time, and there was always a written record to refer to if something was disputed. That alone was worth the fee for us. It took some weeks to settle into the rhythm of the notices, but once it did it was very smooth.

I had done some research online but was confused about the order in which to approach different offices. The orientation session cleared that up in an hour. The booklet was a practical document I actually used, not something decorative. It was good to have someone explain that some of the conflicting advice I had found was just out of date.

After a separation, managing the kids' schedule across two addresses was genuinely difficult. What helped about the Bridgen calendar was that it was neutral — neither side set it up and neither side owned it. The monthly summary was useful for our own records too. A quiet, practical service.

We used the Relocation programme when moving from Penang to KL. The document pack they prepared was very thorough. One office asked for something we had not initially included, and Bridgen handled the follow-up without me needing to get involved. The handover file was something I kept — it covered every submission in one place.

The orientation session was straightforward. I went in knowing almost nothing about how school enrolment worked alongside a residence registration. I came out with a reasonable picture of the sequence and a set of templates I could actually fill in. The session itself was calm and unhurried — nobody pushed me to sign up for anything further.

Case Summaries
Three detailed accounts of how each service helped a specific family situation
Family returning to Malaysia after six years abroad
Challenge
A family with three children returned from Abu Dhabi after six years away. They had documents in Arabic, English and Malay across different stages of validity. They did not know which offices to approach first, or which documents would need to be renewed before submissions would be accepted.
What Bridgen did
Prepared a full document inventory and flagged items needing renewal before any submission was made. Prepared application packs for school enrolment across two schools, residence registration and utility transfer. Tracked all submissions and updated the family in writing at each stage.
Outcome
All submissions completed within eleven weeks. Both older children enrolled in their chosen schools for the January 2025 term. A written handover file covering all submissions was provided at the close of the programme. One resubmission was required for a utility transfer; Bridgen handled it without additional charge.
Two-home household coordinating school and medical schedules
Challenge
Following a separation, two parents in different parts of Kuala Lumpur needed to coordinate school terms, medical appointments and travel across two households. Communication between the homes was strained, and each side disputed what had been agreed and when.
What Bridgen did
Set up a neutral shared calendar with access granted to both named adults. Entered agreed arrangements from information both parties supplied. Sent written notices ahead of each item. Logged every amendment with the date and the name of the requesting adult. Provided a written summary at month-end for four months.
Outcome
Both households reported that disputed communications decreased during the service period. The written change log was referenced on three separate occasions when questions arose about who had requested a change. Both adults engaged Bridgen for a further four-month period at the close of the first.
First-time Malaysian permanent resident navigating registration
Challenge
A parent who had recently received Malaysian permanent residency was unsure of the order in which to approach registration, school enrolment and healthcare registration for their family. Advice from various online sources conflicted with what friends had told them.
What Bridgen did
Delivered a one-hour orientation session by video call. Provided a printed booklet explaining typical sequences for permanent residents, with a specific section on school enrolment. Supplied blank templates for the most commonly requested forms. Sent a written session summary by email.
Outcome
The parent was able to proceed with the process independently, working from the booklet and templates. They engaged a solicitor for one specific aspect of the registration, which had been flagged in the session as requiring professional guidance. No further Bridgen services were needed in this case.
